Where do international flights to Medellín land?

Almost every international arrival lands at José María Córdova (MDE) in Rionegro, about 35 kilometres east of the city. Olaya Herrera (EOH) sits inside Medellín and handles regional domestic routes.

How long is the drive from MDE into the city?

Usually 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the route and traffic. Two roads connect Rionegro with the valley: the Túnel de Oriente and the older Las Palmas highway.

Why book a private transfer before you land?

MDE is not in Medellín. A pre-booked driver meets you in arrivals with a confirmed price, which matters if you land late, travel with luggage or a group, or do not want to sort transport after a long flight. Ride-hailing at the airport is inconsistent, and the official taxi queue is the fallback rather than the plan.

Flight number, arrival date and time, drop-off (hotel, building, or neighborhood), passenger count, and a WhatsApp number. We confirm the driver and the price before you fly.

Can I pay in dollars?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We confirm the price in USD or COP before pickup. Nothing is charged until that confirmation.

What about Uber or an airport taxi?

Accepted Answer

Uber operates in Medellín, but airport pickup rules change and availability is uneven. Authorised airport taxis are always there and cost more than a short city ride because of the distance. A private transfer is for a fixed pickup and a driver who already has your name.

What happens after I send the request?

A person on our team replies on WhatsApp with the driver, pickup time, and price. If the flight is delayed, you message that same thread. After the ride we can arrange restaurants, private tours, nightlife, drivers, and the rest of the stay — only if you want that.
